Hays County Tejano Democrats Endorsement Policy

To receive the endorsement of the Hays County Tejano Democrats, a candidate must get 60% of the vote.

In races with three or more people, we will have a run-off if no one gets 60% on the first ballot. If during a subsequent run-off, if neither the remaining two candidates get at least 60%, we will not endorse.

Membership is valid if a person has paid dues and returned a completed and signed membership form.

To vote in an endorsement election, you must be a member 30 days prior to the endorsement forum.

Preamble

Tejano Democrats Constitution And Bylaws

The purpose of this organization shall be to seek full representation of Hispanics at all levels and in all activities of the Democratic Party. This shall include, but not be limited to, participating in the delegate selection and committee processes at all levels of the Democratic Party conventions and organizations; selecting, screening, supporting, recruiting and endorsing Democratic candidates; taking appropriate public stands on issues relevant to our communities; and proposing, supporting, and, when necessary, opposing legislation relevant to the Hispanic community.
